LAUNCH SCHEDULE AS OF 1.12.24
Boat Owners:
After reviewing the tides and speaking with the haulers, we’ve lined up seven “club arranged” launch dates for 2024. The launches will alternate between our haulers. ECM (aka Simms) is booked for 3 weekdays (they don't schedule weekends) and Continental for 3 Saturdays and 1 weekday. We have these dates and are providing them to boat owners 30-45 days sooner than we have in the last few years allowing boat owners to schedule and complete commissioning work or change dates.
As we did last year, we’ve set up a preliminary launch schedule. Boat owners do not need to contact the haulers for these "club sponsored" launches. Once you confirm your boat information with me, the club will confirm each launch with the hauler. Under this plan the first launch will be on April 23 with ECM and the final launch will be on June 8 with Continental.
The proposed launch schedule can be seen by clicking here or viewing below, and it will be posted on the club website and at the club this weekend. The proposed schedule timing is similar to last year when we started in mid-April and ended a couple weeks later around mid-June across 7 launches. All boats in the yard are on the list.
We have 88 boats in the yard excluding the two "club whalers". I've assigned preliminary launch dates for 45 boats, there 10 boats with a TBD launch date as these boats have not been launched in recent years, and there are 33 trailer boats which will need to be launched or moved on an as needed basis. Please take the time to read the rest of this email, review the schedule, and let me know if you have any questions or if I need to change any of your boat information.
If boat owners wish to change their proposed launch date to another date on the schedule, we will certainly do our best to accommodate that. However, there are certain boats that MUST either launch on the dates assigned or that boat owner will be subject to a move at his or her cost. This is especially true for boats in the first two or three launches and in the middle of the yard (ie not along fence, lockers, or bulkhead wall.)
This will be an agenda item at the January 23rd Annual Body meeting. We need all boat owners to review the proposed schedule and email me at the club email address below by 2/1/2024 to either confirm that you are fine with your assigned launch date or tell me which date you would like to launch on. We will then finalize and post the schedule and share them with the respective haulers.
For trailer boats in the yard, you may be asked to launch and or move your boat to accommodate hauler launches. That means that trailer boat owners need to be aware of when launches will be taking place and be ready to launch or move their boat and/or ask the club to move it for you 1 or 2 days before the scheduled club sponsored launch.
Reminder that all boat owners are required to inform Don Baker, Vice Commodore & Marina Chairman, 3 days prior to any launch or haul outside of these club arranged launch or haul dates. This rule is in place to ensure that: (a) the yard is clear, (b) a slip is available, (c) billing is accurate in the case of transient boats and (d) provide assistance if needed.
Lastly, we also have seven 2024 Haul dates set up with the haulers. The first haul will be on September 17 with Continental and the last haul will be on October 30th with ECM. These dates and the prelim listing of boats for each date will be shared once we've finalized the launch.
Sincerely,
